What’s the truth about finding the perfect diet

Have you ever experienced that sinking feeling when you step on the scale, hoping to see one thing but discovering you haven't lost an ounce?

It's so frustrating, especially when you don't even know what went wrong.

Despite our hard work and healthy choices, there are other factors that we tend to miss...

It's so easy to forget about those moments when we turned to food to cope with stress or what we did AFTER eating a piece of birthday cake.

While the treat was fine, the problem was our mistaken belief that we’d “blown it” and the spiral into "oh well” eating -- wolfing down what was left of the cake and finishing off the ice cream to boot.

It made sense at the moment. After all, it’s better to be done with it and get the temptation out of the house. Right?

These decisions don't happen very often compared to ALL the positive choices we make.  But they add up and can be what's between losing and not.

Instead of taking a closer look at our own role, our minds tend to go to things like a "messed up metabolism," our age, or the injury keeping us from our exercise routine.  So we turn our attention to searching for the latest miracle supplement or perfect eating window.

But the better solution is generally to look at our emotional and impulsive eating.  When you eliminate these behaviors, the good news is you don't have to give up the foods you love or stick to a restrictive diet.

So stay tuned for lots more insights and tips on that.

And when it comes to finding the “perfect diet”, you can stop looking because there’s no such thing.

What’s best depends upon your unique biology, food preferences, and lifestyle.  It's about finding what works for YOU.
